Award-winning Educator, Entrepreneur, and Software Architect
#1 International Bestselling Business Author | International Speaker

For four decades, Dr. Hill has worked with owners to implement change in hundreds of small and large companies. He is an award-winning educator, author, and technology architect, empowering people and businesses through team-developed innovation and integration.

As an engineer who reads financials and reviews contracts, his holistic point of view and counsel are chiefly valued among his clients. Today, Dennis works intimately with small and midsize company owners and their management teams on operational integration and streamlining processes for greater profitability and productivity. As a cybersecurity pioneer, he voluntarily leads several initiatives to ensure consumer data privacy and ownership and for companies to secure data integrity and portability for a global workforce in the 21st century, Consortium DeHR.

Applying his knowledge and know-how in engineering, business, and law, Dennis serves business owners, from start-ups to mature companies, helping them simplify and streamline workforce processes through one-on-one coaching, locum tenens, or fractional CXO engagements, and naturally technology-related architectural and project management consulting services.

Education, the Force for Progress

Leadership leaves lasting legacies.

A computer and technology prodigy since age 14, Dennis Hill has made a career of solving problems and making measurements. Upon completing his engineering degree, the faculty at Marquette University recognized Dennis with a special computer award in 1982 and the Frank Rogers Bacon Fellowship for graduate school. Later at 23, Professor Hill became the inaugural department head and program chair for a new computer science and engineering degree at MSOE University. The program attained its initial accreditation in 1987 and has ranked among the top 10 in the nation for more than three decades. He obtained funding to create seven labs to support every academic program and hosted many leaders of the day, like Dr. Steve Chen (Cray Research, Chen Systems), Bert Rutan (Aerospace pioneer), Charles M. W. Swithinbank (Polar glaciologist), Dr. Rev. Norman Vincent and Ruth Stafford-Peale (Power of Positive Thinking) and the Honorable William Bennett (US Secretary of Education), pictured.

Lifelong Commitment to Diversity

We all stand on others' shoulders.

As an academic leader, Professor Hill directly forged relationships with several major corporations (Honeywell, 3M, AT&T, Cray, Data General, GE) for which he received a service award.  These strategic partners funded scholarships and provided summer and post-graduation jobs for students specifically from underrepresented groups in STEM, i.e., women, Native Americans, Blacks, and Latinx. He also created an honors program to challenge advanced learners to excel beyond the standard curriculum and develop applied research skills. As the university's first Vice President for Business & Government Relations, Dr. Hill coined his commitment to education as one's most significant force for social progress; he co-led the university's largest capital campaign to expand the campus by that time.

Innovation from Start to Finish

Neither agent nor manager, but a Change Catalyzer™.

Mr. Hill received his first industrial board directorship at age 25, where he later served as CIO/CTO as the group scaled from $150 million to nearly half-billion in annual sales. He was first in the IT field in the 1980s to introduce industrial-grade contact management or CRM on Oracle & Sun servers as part of ERP systems. He distinctively extended CRM practices and document management beyond sales to new workforce recruitment, human resources, and vendor management applications.

His pioneering work in computer security earned him international recognition and early media coverage, too. The Business Journal featured him on the cover of its magazine in 1987 and later honored him by giving its first-ever tech awards to his Family Organizer Plus in 2021 for Personal Technology of the Year.

Century-spanning Servant Leadership

Knowledge cannot replace experience, but is foundational to progress.

Dennis believes that true leaders do not seek to lead but are called to it. He contends that education is our greatest force for social progress, finding its maximum impact through sharing with others. His contribution to Brilliant Breakthroughs for the Small Business Owner - Volume 4 in 2020 earned a #1 International Bestseller in Business for the first time in the series, and he reprised his role as an author with additional service as editor of Volume 5 in 2021.   He is regularly featured, speaking at international conferences and publishing peer-reviewed articles on the impact of technology on human resources, e.g., data privacy, COVID-19 vaccination verification, and contact/knowledge relationship practices applied to workforce recruitment and development. Finally, he gives back in voluntary ways, mentoring students and through organizations like IHRIM and SME.
